Africa boasts abundant natural resources and reserves. The continent holds 10% of the world’s oil reserves, supplies 8% of the world’s natural gas, and accounts for 60% of the global diamond share. Additionally, Africa is rich in precious metals such as gold, along with other nonferrous metals that have been stored in significant quantities.
However, one resource often overlooked is Africa’s human capital. With its vast labor pool, Africa has drawn the attention of global developers. The continent is home to over 800 million people. As labor costs rise in countries like China and India—key BRIC nations—Africa is becoming an increasingly attractive destination for investment and workforce development.
Many African countries are still developing and receive Official Development Assistance (ODA) from the OECD.
Each year, tens of billions of dollars in funding flow into Africa to support its development. Furthermore, investments from other countries, particularly China, are increasing rapidly, driving brisk economic activity on the continent.
West Africa is a region situated on the western protruding edge of the African continent, bordering the Atlantic Ocean, and is composed of 16 countries. These include Mauritania, Senegal, The Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Cabo Verde, Mali, and Niger. Fifteen of these, excluding Mauritania, are members of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). The region is largely Anglophone and Francophone, shaped by its colonial history under British and French rule.
While many countries in the region have experienced civil conflicts in the past, political stability has significantly improved in the 21st century, largely due to UN efforts. In 2006, democratic elections were held in 21 countries.
Nigeria, the continent’s largest oil producer, is also known for its leading cocoa production. West African countries are rich in natural resources, including energy resources like oil, gas, and coal; precious metals such as gold and diamonds; and non-ferrous metals like copper and aluminum. Additionally, 60% of the population is under the age of 20, highlighting the region’s vast labor potential.
Fueled by these economic and political developments, most countries in the region are experiencing real GDP growth rates exceeding 6%, with some reaching double digits.
Make Group is engaged in various projects across Africa in response to these dynamic opportunities.
With global oil prices remaining high and no clear alternative energy source emerging, fossil energy derived from coal is drawing renewed attention. Coal accounts for 25% of global energy consumption—second only to oil at 35%—but represents 40% of global electricity generation, highlighting its key role in power production. In addition to coal, West Africa is rich in natural resources, including precious metals such as gold and diamonds, and non-ferrous metals like copper, platinum, and uranium, which are actively mined.
Make Group is involved in every stage of resource development across Africa, leveraging years of accumulated expertise to deliver consistent satisfaction to our clients.
We provide the following services to our clients:

As labor costs continue to rise in China, its appeal as a manufacturing base is gradually diminishing. In contrast, Africa is emerging as an attractive production hub thanks to its relatively low labor costs and abundant natural resources. Moreover, improving living standards are driving increased demand for consumer goods.
Make Group supports clients seeking to enter the African market by providing a comprehensive one-stop solution to ensure a successful market entry.
